A Play about the events culminating in the massacre at Wounded Knee Creek in 1890

This presentation portrays three conflicting views of Wounded Knee. The characters begin to change during the performance as they interact with(imaginary) others--Talking to children, reading books and newspapers, and receiving letters from a fiance away in the army.
Just as women of that day would have, the audience is invited to see and feel the interplay of human actions, cycles of weather, changing technology, incompetence and competence, prejudice and acceptance, and the beliefs and values of several cultures coming into contact.

Stand Up Comedy
& Storytelling

Growing up on the Pine Ridge Reservation, "Indian Humor" has always been a BIG part of my life. Being around Indian people, no matter how depressing the times became, we always made time to laugh. Telling jokes and sharing funny stories were always included at every function. I've heard the funniest stories from the Eyapahas(announcers) at the Wacipis(Pow-wows). Even today, I look forward to the humor told at native gatherings.

I really enjoy hearing and retelling jokes heard in Indian Country. Most of these jokes may be used interchangeably with any tribe. Because of my respect and love for all Native people, I would never knowingly offend anyone. My goal is to make you crack a smile or even laugh out loud!
